Learn to Cross- stitch

Learn to cross stitch.  You will learn how to read a pattern, find the center of your fabric and how to get started.  Instructor will supply project.  Class limit 4.

**If a child is taking the class, an adult must be present.

Ornament Class

 

$15.00 plus supplies (stitchery tape & 1 skein of floss)

Learn to finish your own ornaments. 

You will need to supply the following:

  • completed cross stitch piece, square or rectangle only
  • you need to bring ornament in before class to have boards cut for stretching
  • fabric to finish back of ornament.

Flat Fold Class

 

$25.00 plus supplies (stitchery tape & 1 skein of floss)

In need of new finishing ideas?   This class is for you. Come and learn how to finish your pieces so they can be folded flat for storage.

You will need to supply the following:

  • completed cross stitch piece,
  • 4 backing boards,
  • 1/4 yard of backing fabric for a 5x6 inch piece,
  • stitchery tape,
  • cording materials such as ribbon, braid, beaded cording, etc.

 

Please come in before class to have boards cut.

Cube Class

  • ribbon trim.

Hardanger Class

Hardanger Embroidery originated in Norway and is traditionally done white on white (tone on tone) on 22 count evenweave fabric to embellish table linens and other home furnishings.  Hardanger is made up of simple and easy to learn stitches to accomplish beautiful intricate designs.  Today Hardanger Embroidery is also incorporated into many cross stitch designs by many designers, Emie Bishop of Cross 'N Patch and the Victoria Samper among others.

Please join us to learn the beginning steps of Hardanger Embroidery.  We will introduce to the basics of Hardanger Embroidery, teaching how to do kloster blocks cutting, needle weaving and dove's eye.  Come by and view our Hardanger display and let us know if you are interested in learning this simple embroidery.

Buttonhole Class

Buttonhole stitches are traditionally used for the outer edge of Hardanger patterns.  This stitch makes a smooth and secure edge when the fabric is trimmed outside the buttonhole stitch.  Expand upon your Hardanger knowledge with this edging stitch by signing up for one of our Buttonhole classes.
